VRBO now charging guests 20 percent for a booking

Wow, it's getting to where it's VRBO is the one making all of the money.  2 years ago, the service fee was under 10 percent.  If you add in the owner's portion, VRBO is carving off 30 percent or more per reservation.  I guess you grab it while you can.  Pretty unreal.

At some point, this house of cards will collapse.

Every company does this as they grow. Nobody is happy making $X per year. They have to show growth every quarter or they act like the sky is falling. 

Someone will eventually come along and offer a better product for a better price. That will roll nicely for a while, then they will fall into the same pattern. Rinse and repeat.
