New to the Real Estate Industry

I am very eager to learn from everyone's experiences and expertise.

My name is Dameka Mack currently based in Washington, D.C. I am new to the real estate industry but know exactly what my interest are: development, capitalizing on short term rentals and wholesaling. I serve as Real Estate Consultant at Walter & Wells Real Estate Group - an acquisitions and development firm that specializes in single and multi family projects in the Maryland and Pennsylvania regions.

With my short time spent in the industry, I learn everyday that there is more information that I need to know. The biggest takeaways from this platform, that I'm most looking forward to, are: further connecting with and learning from every level of professional (beginner to veteran) that Bigger Pockets has to offer.

Welcome to bigger pockets and also to Maryland. I live in Old Town Bowie . You can get a pHd with the wealth of content bigger pockets puts out here, podcasts, you tube and all the books they've published. There's a REIA meeting in Tyson's corner tomorrow night if you want to go yo it let me know, I will get all the info to you.

    Hi Dameka! Welcome. I am a buy & hold investor through BRRRRs and turnkey purchases of anything from condos to SFHs. I'm always looking for the right small multiunit. My markets are DC to Baltimore County regions that are pretty much within 45 minutes of I95. I'm connected to a few REIAs and meetups in the area. I'm happy to share information and my network. Would love to chat if I can help you out.

    Hi @Dameka Mack Welcome to Bigger Pockets and Real Estate!! From reading your post, you have already made the 1st big step and that is identifying the areas you want to be in within Real Estate. A lot of times investors get lost in different strategies rather than just concentrating on one. I am also an investor based out of Northern Virginia and concentrate on buying out of state turnkey properties in Cleveland, OH.
