Hi,
My name is Shannon, and I have been listening to BP for a few weeks now and reading Rental Property Investing, where they talk a lot about BP and the benefits behind being a member. So here I am, just got my Real Estate License and want to start investing next year in both rental properties and flippers so I am here to get advice, network and try to figure how all this works. All advice is greatly appreciated so I can grow and learn and then be able to do the same for others in the future.
@Shannon Bloomfield congrats on finding this community and getting your real estate license. I would suggest that you find some local meet-ups in your area and start attending. You may even be able to find a mentor who would be willing to take you under their wing. Concentrate on finding a Real Estate brokerage that does investing as well.

@Shannon Bloomfield Hello! I am in the same boat. I found a local investing group to join so that I can learn aside from this platform. If you go to my profile and scroll to the bottom to my recent forum activity, you can click on my recent post and read the replies I received so far. It may be beneficial for you. Welcome and good luck!

Good Investing...
Thank you so much for the input I truly appreciate the advice.
Congrats!! Being an agent and being an investor are two drastically different things IMO.
If you can, try to have an end result in mind. WHY do you want to invest in RE and/or become an agent?
For investing, I'd always recommend house hacking to start off, as it's the most approachable strategy, and you also learn very quickly if you like owning rentals or not.
Hey Shannon, welcome! Congratulations on getting your real estate license and diving into the world of investing — both great paths. This community is full of valuable advice and connections to help you hit the ground running.
Congrats on getting your Real Estate License! That’s a huge step, and it’s awesome that you’re looking to dive into both rental properties and flipping.
One of the best things about being a member here is the ability to network with people at all different stages of their real estate careers. Whether you're just starting out or already have a few deals under your belt, the conversations here are so insightful. You can learn about different strategies and see how others are navigating the challenges of investing, property management, and flipping.
Welcome to BP, Shannon! This community is full of helpful resources and knowledgable professionals eager to assist during your journey.
Have you chosen a brokerage yet? I'm a local broker and PM, your brokerage will be the key to your success in this business if you're focusing on sales. Good luck and stick around! There are lots of local meetups and frequent discussions about all things real estate here in Sac / Norcal.

Welcome to BP. I'm an agent and investor in Sacramento. Reach out anytime if you have any questions about the Sacramento market.
Welcome to BP, and congrats on your license! My first flip was a HUD foreclosure with no money down—far from perfect, but I learned a ton about budgeting and contractors. It was tough but worth it in the long run—literally!
Focus on learning the numbers and building connections. I agree with @Jake Andronico get clarity on what your end goal is. Everything else will follow, reverse engineer, and get started. You’ve got the right mindset, and I know you’ll crush it! 💪
