New to BP in the San Francisco Bay Area

Hello all!

I am new to BP but loving everything I have seen and heard so far!  I currently live in SF (originally from Elk Grove, just south of Sacramento) and I am in the process of attaining my real estate salesperson's license, which should be within the next month. However, my true goals are investing in San Francisco and Sacramento, the areas I have lived and know best.

I would love to connect with anyone in the area who has already gone through some of the hoops, as well as any recommended contractors, investment-focused brokers, investors, agents, anybody involved around here!

Nice to meet you! Glad to be a part of this community.

Hi Jake,

Welcome to Biggerpockets. It appears that @J. Martin also lives in the city. He's a wealth of knowledge. Buy him lunch and pick his brain sometime.

With respect to investment-focused brokers, I'd suggest you look into Marcus & Millichap or Cassidy Turley, who is recently got bought out by DTZ.  It's a brutal business from outside looking in.  Nevertheless, the reward is quite lucrative if you can break into this investment market.  Like J said .....although there are some headaches along the way, it's totally worth it at the end.

Best of luck.
