New to Spokane, Washington and RE Investing

Hello, BiggerPockets!

I wanted to say hello and introduce myself!

Background:

My name is Ryan. I grew up in Albuquerque, NM and recently moved to Spokane, WA to be a flight attendant. This puts me in a position to finally delve into real estate which I have been interested in since high school. I first started investing (non real estate) when I was 16 and have been interested in real estate and early retirement ever since!

I have many (sporadic) days off in which I have been reading and learning on Bigger Pockets. I have been on BP for years, but I am finally getting ready to delve into the industry in real life. 

Goals:

I would like to get my first rental by the end of the year ( probably a 2-4 unit primary residence where I can rent out the other units).

Long term I would like to work on rehabs for flipping and eventually long term rentals to round out my early retirement portfolio.

Hobbies:

I love running, martial arts, and almost anything outdoors. I am also obsessively passionate about ultralight backpacking and have hiked over 3,000 miles in the last couple years.

I'd be happy to help out with anyone's business in exchange for some hands on experience.

@Lisa Troxel I have yet to check out CDA, and have heard so many great things about it! Thanks for the hiking and climbing suggestions. I will definitely work my way over there to get some hiking in. Haven't been to Hayden yet either, and haven't done a full marathon yet. Maybe this is the year! I've been looking for something to train towards. I heard of a huge race here in Spokane. I'll check yours out and see if I can make it! Let me know if you need any help with the race. I have helped out with many races in ABQ and miss the running community.
