If your doing some investing in Cleveland you probably want to give The Ultimate Guide to Grading Cleveland Neighborhoods a read.

I see your from Australia we have some other Aussie investors over in our neck of the woods. Actually I think reading that guide is why @Federico Gutierrez moved from Australia to Cleveland. @Engelo Rumora might have tried moving to Cleveland but I guess he was bad with directions because he ended up over in Toledo. ; )

Thank you for the tip with the Ultimate guide to grading Cleveland neighborhoods. I will definitely check that out.

@Richard Bersinic I am just beginning the same process as you did when you started this thread and was wondering how it went. Did you ever find any properties that made sense in the Cleveland area? Did you find any good resources you could refer?

I am currently looking in the Cleveland area. One thing to be concerned about in Cleveland is that lead paint laws are changing. This could mean thousands of dollars to landlord to remediate the problem in older houses. (Which most are). Please do your due diligence in Cleveland.

Hi everyone, I'm newer to BP but have been absorbing a lot of the podcasts and forums. I reside in California but its too expensive here for me to invest in real estate let alone even buy property for myself. After discovering BP, i really want to lean more heavily into real estate investing (currently own a condo and house in Portland, Oregon but realized i should broaden my search). After scouring various cities across the nation to identify a starting point to really get started, I am leaning towards Cleveland area.
I too want to start networking and finding realtors, contractors, lenders, and property managers in the area to work with - if anyone has any references or recommendations, please let me know. Thank you!

What type of properties are you looking into? You won't need to worry about snow removal if you are picking up houses, duplexes & buildings of that nature.

I'm looking into duplexes and was under the impression that landlord would be responsible for the cost of regular snow removal. Is that accurate?

@Matt Comrey you'll be required to pay for lawncare, bu not snow removal. 95% of owners do not duplexes plow snow, the other 5% typically is an owner occupant in a duplex.
