Hey there. I've been a bay area native my whole life, and Looking to get into Real Estate investing as a supplemental job and to "hack" my way into a house of my own. I work odd hours, 3 days a week as a full-time Registered Nurse in an ICU. The rest of my time has been researching Real Estate. Admittedly, my knowledge base is limited, but I've been reading some intro books, lurking on the forums, and listening to podcasts.
Ideally, I would love to move into a duplex/triplex/multifamily home in the east bay that I could live in as well. I wouldn't mind a place that needs rehab, as I have the time to work on it. I'm in need of a recommended Real Estate agent and all the help I can get!

There a several that I frequent and I find them to be quite informative and the fellow attendees are friendly and helpful. Check meetup.com as well as the events section here on BP.

Hi @Adam Raty, It sounds like you and I are in very similar situations. I'm also very new to real estate investment. grew up in the Bay Area and even was an EMT then paramedic for a while. Since I'm currently renting, I'm also very interested in house hacking a multi family as my way into REI. I think that @Jana Cain has the right idea about meetups. If you every need someone to go to one you can call on me.

@Adam Raty Welcome to BP! Nice to see another Bay Area native still around haha. I know a lot of people who are trying to do the "househacking" concept in East Bay - particularly West Oakland, as prices are steadily rising there. Smart idea, get in ASAP!
