Hi all! I am excited and happy to be a part of bigger pockets! My friend, Hannah, and I had been thinking of partnering up in real estate investing for a while and are finally ready to pull the trigger this year! My friend, Heather, who is a real estate agent referred me to BP and have been gaining so much knowledge through podcasts and webinars! Hannah and I live in KCMO and have full time jobs. She is a full time hotel manager in St Joseph MO and I am a full time home health physical therapist in the north KC. We are looking for our first real estate investment and are looking into getting a single family, turn-key home in a specific area of St. Joseph. We are excited to start out and learn more from you all!

@Emily Eiberger I live in Reno NV and have invested in St. Joe since 2017. I own a few single families, have done a few flips, just bought a 4 plex on Mitchell, and own some small apartments in Maryville. Feel free to reach out, good luck.

Hey now Buchanan County investors! @Michelle Lutz and I have yet to take the plunge into Buchanan county but the price points sure are attractive up there. Make sure your rents are high enough so your cash won’t be eaten up by capex.
KC is a great market for real estate. Get going, you’ll be amazed what can happen. Run those numbers and jump in!
Nice to meet you. I'm on the KS side (Leavenworth county) with one single-family rental right now.
Curious: what's your reason for targeting a "specific area" of St Joe? Are you planning to self-manage?
Hi Caleb! Starting in St Joe because we are both familiar with the area/market from when we went to college, the specific area we are targeting is a nicer neighborhood with manageable / lower purchase prices, central location to downtown and college, we are both up there semi often and have contact people for contracting/ handy work. Just hoping to get our foot in the door! Hopefully after getting a few properties we'll gain some momentum (and $!) to expand into KC! That's the hope anyways!

No I haven't yet. I'm having trouble finding them. I joined the fb kc investment group but not St Joe. There are so many "bridge" groups, but the ones I'm finding aren't related to real estate investing

@Pat Jackson not to hijack this thread, but do you use a property manager in Maryville? If so, would you mind sharing their name? That’s my alma mater and I have thought about investing up there.

Smart move, there is plenty of money to be made in Joe. I have 8 doors in savannah and on my third live in flip in St Joe. Let me know if you need anything at all.
