Nobody here has mentioned one fact, perhaps they didn’t realize it. The nomination was made 12 days after he took office!
Even if you think he is the greatest president ever he hadn’t accomplished anything in 12 days. He was nominated and won for one simple reason – he isn’t George W. Bush.

Yeah, they played their hand too soon. Had they done it towards the end of his administration when they could point to a single thing he accomplished they may have been able to make a point.
I guess that now he has the Nobel Peace Prize - 16 year old kids from Chicago where he was a Community Organizer won't beat each other to death in the streets.

Something I forgot to mention. Remember on the news where that 16 year old kid was videotaped being beat to death in Chicago? That's the Roseland area of Chicago - the neighborhood where Obama based his community organizing. Yeah, he's done wonders for peace wherever he goes.

My immediate reaction when I saw the headline was "For What?". Some political pundits see this more as a repudiation of George Bush than an honoring of Obama; some hope that this will give him the impetus to make good on his promises. It would really be pathetic if the measure of this man, for this honor, is how happy the committee is that he is not George Bush.

I heard a pundit put it this way, the five voters in Norway for the Nobel Peace Prize ask this question, "Who has screwed over America the most in the past 12 months?", and award them the Nobel Peace Prize, because as we all know, America is nothing but a bully, a Warmonger.
You talk about motivation for the Islamic Jihadists, now they can bomb a Nobel Peace Prize winner.
The Nobel voters have now put Obama in the same category as Mother Teresa, the International Red Cross, Nelson Mandela, President Theodore Roosevelt, President Woodrow Wilson and Martin Luther King, Jr. All I can say is "WOW"! That's like putting me in the same category as Rich Weese! I don't think so!

I know I am stating the obvious but this just strengthens my belief that recent nobel piece prizes are not legitimate. Didnt Al Gore get one for spewing his global warming propoganda?

Why yes Tony, I believe you're right about that. Notice he kind of crept into the shadows once that was thouroughly debunked and we see that it's getting colder. Seriously, this partisan bandwagon mentality drives me INSANE.
I think the movie PCU said it best. Sometimes it seems like they don't care what the ra-ra cause of the day is, as long as they have one. Common sense be dam#ed.

This is true but the funny thing was Al Gore didn't even "get it". He shared it with some committee that supposedly came up with the research. He was able to share the prize because he took their research and used it in one of his bs movies.

BTW - this one's for Eddie whenever he reads this thread. You can write a SNL style short for one of your hollywood buddies of Mother Theresa accepting her Nobel Peace Prize only to get interrupted by Kanye West who talks about how much better Obama's Nobel was.

Really??? Was Bush THAT bad? Did he really do THAT much damage to this nation?
No, but the world thinks he was. I have a feeling that by the time we can get BO out of office many people will be wishing that we had Bush back. I know I do already and I didn't care a lot about him during his last term.

Yes, Bush was that bad. He added the drug benefit to the nearly bankrupt Medicare program, which was inexcusable. He spent money like it was going out of style. He started the government takeover of our country (socialism) with the bailout of the banks. He was a disgrace.
The only thing he did right was to fight the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, thereby taking the fight to our enemies!

That's true Mike. In all fairness though, we already made money on the bank bailout. In otherwords, government is actually getting back out of the banking industry like it was supposed to. Now the automakers, on the other hand...
