I think we're all missing the big point here, and that is that those members who are most active on the site are generally benefiting MUCH more from it than those of you who do not interact or engage.
In the 5+ years that BP has been around, this has ALWAYS been the case. Those members who are the most visible are typically those who are making moves as a result of BP.
