I think we're all missing the big point here, and that is that those members who are most active on the site are generally benefiting MUCH more from it than those of you who do not interact or engage.
In the 5+ years that BP has been around, this has ALWAYS been the case. Those members who are the most visible are typically those who are making moves as a result of BP.
Come on Chris, you don't want to prostitute yourself now. Besides, contrary to popular belief, we are actually not in competition for the spot. In fact, we joined in as partners to do business together and not compete.
LOL I know its all just good fun. It's not like we get any real prizes for having the most influence or anything. When I first started on this site I looked at the influence of people, but it quickly became clear who were the big dogs here. Besides, I barely have 1000 influence so it will be a while before I can join the ranks coveted top 10!
Josh, how about a list of most influence combined with least RE knowledge? I think I might win that one!
BTW, I think the rate of increase of Steve Babiak's influence points is astonishing. If I were the Census Bureau, I would predict that Steve will pass Will and Rich in a couple of months. It'll probably be as accurate as census projections, I guess.
Keep in mind that the influence points was not established until recently this year and I have been here longer then Rich (by 6 months), hence more post counts.
Scott, the influence system is a recent innovation of Josh so older posts did not get any points. Since Will joined before Rich, it stands to reason that he would have more posts without influence points. (Rich is also better at reminding people to vote for him.)
But as Will said, the influence system is useful but not to be taken competitively.

Vikram, a most intelligent summary of the facts, thank you and a vote for you!
Thanks Jaws. I just posted the same thing on a reply to Josh, Peter, Will and Vikram under my thread "another success story" . As I said, I'm not competing. Will wants the spot. I don't have the time or interest to post 55 times in 6 hours!! It must be important. Most of my posts are early or late, because I 'm not in an office all day. Good luck to Will and all others.
Rich in FL.
So far, everybody has been "in spirit" with the intended them of the original topic - it was to have some fun. So keep it coming. It's just great to have an "off topic" thread where there is no air of hostility.
I had already known that Will was away, and that Rich had a tenuous lead at best. And we all are aware that Will is one of the most active members - not just for forum posts, but bulletins and blogs also. So it was inevitable that Will would regain the number 1 spot.
I just wanted to incite the other members to guess when. And as Will already pointed out, he has resumed that number 1 rank.
For those seeking to join the top 10, you have to raise your activity level. Simple as that.

You are so right. At first I just lurked around here. But once I got myself involved, everything changed. I have not only gained business from this site, but also info that I would have never found and met some nice people too.
I now know, if i want to get to the top, I must take several days vacation. And spend all my time on here!
