oh, that reminds me of another one ...

... or your significant other/girlfriend/fiance/wife and you have "date night" roaming the isles of Home Depot discussing what finishes you want to put into your property (flip, rental, and/or primary residence).

LMAO.  Me and my SO almost got thrown out of Home Depot for getting a little too frisky in the plumbing aisle.  Sometimes when you get to staring at all those faucets and shower heads.....

When you start analyzing deals in your head and then actually break it down to see how close you were.

    Or...

You tend to always relate the conversation to real estate...

When you see that calculator that was posted and know it's bass-ackwards.  Having to press the enter key, enter your second number, then the + sign.  WTF? :)

Not bass-ackwards, but postfix notation (sometimes called reverse-polish notation), the most efficient way to process arithmetic ...

    I love this thread!

Me and my SO love watching Flipping/renovation shows, and calling them out on what they should have done first, or incorrect technique,  or poor choice of materials etc, it's so much fun!!   It's fun to look at jobs they did, and say critique!

When BP becomes one of your favorite sites!

I look at my friend's FB pics, and specifically look at their house in the background at their kitchens and stuff and know the cost of materials.

I actually switch back and forth between the RPN HP-12c, one or two 12-button calculators perpetually up on my computer screen, as well as a Google Sheets spreadsheet or two.

    Drives people around me nuts.

     Chis:

RPN is so engrained that I have to consciously think my way through when using an infix calculator ... my six year old finds it amusing.

@Todd Fithian or when you're so used to talking money your truck no longer has normal vehicle miles of 270k it has "$270k" of driving for dollar miles ;)

When you write your own program to screen-scrape county data.  Not only for RE purposes but to also put the ISD on blast for finagling their numbers when promoting a tax increase for a bond.  And.... then you accidentally crash the server.

When my 11-year-old son asked me about Donald Trump, I told him about the incredibly marvelous deals he did as a real estate dude ago not about the incredible marvelous things he is doing as President.

When you visit a place you've never been to before and instead of going to tourist attractions, you prefer to drive through neighborhoods looking at houses.

When you drive through a new area and your SO instinctively starts pricing every house for sale... Then pulls up Realtor.com and is always within 10k of asking.
