I just moved to Austin from Denver. So far it has lived up to it's reputation as a nice place to put down roots. Drivers here are WAAAAY more courteous than Denver drivers (at least that is my experience thus far). Most drivers here aren't glued to your bumper and they actually stop for red lights instead of barreling through them like they are color blind.
Anyhooo, enough rambling. I've been flipping/renting houses in Denver since 2009. Looking for new contacts here in Austin. This year I want to buy 2 or 3 SFH for flipping and/or renting and I am looking to buy a 4-plex. Just learning the area and have heard the 78745 area has potential and perhaps other south Austin metro areas and north suburbs like Cedar Park and RR perhaps? I'm looking for a whole new team. Please reply with your input on "do-able" areas in Austin and other general thoughts. And PM if you would like to grab some coffee on Congress perhaps (if that's not the name of a coffee shop here, it should be). Oh, yeah, and any input into the best networking (not sales pitching) meet-ups would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
@Scott Lepore I'm in the Austin market as well but I'm extremely new. I haven't done any deals yet. As far as good areas to invest in, if you go far south out by Slaughter and further east out towards Del Valle, there's a lot of room for growth. I'd be more than happy to meet up with you for coffee sometime!
@Scott Lepore Hello, I a a investor located in Austin Texas and I am wanting to invest in properties in Denver and possibly relocate up there. I would love to work with you in the Austin market as well as the surrounding areas. I had to take a break from real estate investing do to a serious car accident I was in but now I am getting back into it. The San Antonio market is also a good market.
@Ayana Sabree I would also like to work with you. I think the more people you have on your team and the more you network the better we all do. Maybe there is a way the three of us can work together.
Let me know what you guys think.
Have a great week.
If you are not working with a Realtor already. I'll be happy to help you find any type of property. Coming from the investing world myself I understand certain needs.. let me know. Thanks!
Welcome to Austin! Here are a couple of the larger Austin meetups that generally avoid "guru" pitches and selling you training or programs:
