I just wanted to post a thank you to BP and the forum members — about 2-3 weeks ago I discovered the podcast and began listening to 4+ episodes a day. Fast forward two weeks and I just accepted a job as a manager that will about triple my income.
Thanks @Joshua D. and @brandonturner for all your hard work!! It was because of the podcasts that I could spit out terms like "fully performing property", "forced equity appreciation play", "cash flow", "cash / cash ratio"...etc. I listened to all the podcasts on land-lording and property management going into the interview and nailed it.
That's great! Congratulations. I always tell new members looking for mentors that if they would dedicate themselves to consistently reading the blogs, listening to posts, etc., as if it were a class, they would get a great education, it sounds like you did and you're reaping the rewards!
I listen to the podcasts every nite at work, absorbing so much information. Nothing beats real life on the the street experiences. I plan on upgrading to the Pro level very soon.
@Mark Lopez has a great point about experience. BP provides a great education framework though.
@Karen Margrave very true. I started taking notes on every podcast, saved in a master google doc, and I found that to be very helpful. You're right, study as it this were a class.
It is success stories such as these, and the amazing price (FREE) that keep me coming back to BiggerPockets, even though @Joshua D. beats up on @BrandonTurner on every podcast. (Still hilarious though)
Education is a way of life and Bigger Pockets is my primary resource for real estate education. I read just about every newsletter article and try to be active in the forums (this is much harder for me).
In other words, welcome to the community and make BP a part of your life!
