House Hacking in Southern New Hampshire

House Hacking in Southern New Hampshire

Hey everyone!

I’m a 23 year-old currently living at home in Nashua, NH. I got my real estate license when I was 19 due to listening to people talk about real estate investments and how they are a great way to build wealth long-term. I was hooked!

I have finally gotten to the point in my life where I’m hoping I can get into a house hacked property, between 2-4 units. My main goal with this post is to network myself with like-minded people or people who are knowledgeable on investments around this area.

I am hoping to provide value to the people around me an exchange for knowledge in this industry.

Hi TJ, I love the idea of househacking your first home purchase. That how I got my start in Real Estate. Happy to help if you need anything! Good luck with your first house hack! -Jeremy Nault NH Realtor

    Hi TJ,

    My name is Johnna.  I am also a Real Estate Agent in NH (and Maine).  My husband and I have 13 properties, with a mix of Long Term Rentals and Short Term Rentals.  I am always up for meeting and networking with other real estate investors.  You should check out the NHREIA Meetings

    @Timothy Richard good for you! That is awesome. I think a good place to meet are the FREE Candor Investment Meetups. We host one in Manchester and it's coming up on the 19th. Might be a good place for you to network and connect with others. Happy to talk more about this so feel free to shoot me a message. I personally have house hacked my way to owning 5 buildings so I can attest it's a solid route.

    @Timothy Richard

    welcome.  i don't know the NH market but house hacking is the best way to get started.  the more properties you can look at and the more offers you can make, the better off you will be.  don't get frustrated if the first few don't work out.

    someone else just posted the exact same question and got great responses - here's that thread:

    First property dilemma: house hack locally in NH or invest out of state for cash flow

    good luck

    I’d recommend you focus on a 2–4 unit where the rents comfortably cover the payment plus repairs, build relationships with an investor-friendly lender and property manager, and underwrite every deal as if you’ll move out in 12–24 months so it still works as a true rental.

    TJ — great to see you thinking this way so early.

    I’m a realtor and investor in the Treasure Valley (Idaho) and have helped several clients successfully house hack 2–4 unit properties. It’s one of the best entry strategies I’ve seen when done with the right numbers and expectations.

    Happy to connect, compare notes, or share what’s worked for my clients. You’re definitely on the right path.
