Lack of wholesalers in the DMV area - why?

I'm an amateur BRRR investor in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area and I am shocked at the lack of wholesalers in our area. I think 4brothersbuyhouses is the only local/non national wholesaler I see with a consistent lead flow. Why are there not a ton of others, given how competitive this region is in all other areas of business and the healthy real estate market? Or are there other good wholesalers I'm missing out on? I dont like the big national brands because their process isn't good, deals suck (usually in bad locations), and they don't have consistent deals.

FWIW - I've google cash buyers, wholesalers, etc... plenty of times over the years and found very little.

Any guidance is helpful!

Same as Russell. I get a ton of wholesale deals every week, there are some larger firms who spend 7 figures on marketing per year, so yes they have much of the deal flow. The other thing to understand is this is a very competitive market so dont think there are not people who are going to not buy a property or you are gonna get it for a steal. There are deals but i have bought properties in other states for stupid low prices, rare that occurs here.

I receive about 100 emails a week from wholesalers in the area.

Nice! Care to share some of the higher quality ones? Are they are all mostly national brands like Express Homebuyers? And are the leads mostly in the DMV area? If possible I'm trying to avoid the ones that give deals all over and not nearish central DMV.

Nice! Care to share some of the higher quality ones? And yes I grew up here and understand the competitiveness of the market and don't expect 50% discounts - but still nice to get a deal.

I think you need to join networking events, or meet investors, there are ton of them out here.
