Questions for investor friendly agents

Hello BP!

I am a long time lurker and first time poster. I'm in the process of getting my license here in Illinois (specifically, Chicago) and my main goal once I am licensed is to work with investors. I have not signed with a brokerage yet. My purpose for posting is to get any advice, from agents who work with investors, about where I should go from here. I have learned much about starting as a residential broker, but am wondering how it differs when you want to work with investors.

What do you recommend I look for in a brokerage? Should I look to join a team if possible? If you were starting over, what do you wish you knew?

 I'm an agent and I only work with investors, that's it. Your question is very broad, so I'll give you a broad answer, but I am happy to dive in wherever you'd like. A couple pieces of advice:

-If you want to work with investors, put 100% of your energy in to ONLY that. Every real estate agent wants to be everything to everyone and that's one of the reason 90% fail. 

-Be an investor yourself- put your money where your mouth is so that you can speak with authority and experience to your clients.
