Do your research before buying near industrial sites.

Near Miami there are limestone quarries where they use dynamite to blast away the rock.  I spoke to one nearby homeowner that said it feels like an earthquake several times a day when they conduct the blasting.  She was not very happy with her prior agent for keeping quiet about this neighborhood condition.  I could see how this also drives down property values when word gets out.  Before buying near any industrial site, it's best to spend a work day in the area to observe what it's like.
