Leave Law Enforcement to become an agent?
I am currently a full time corrections officer. I have become infatuated in real estate and my end goal is to have enough passive income to supplement my w2 income. I am 25 with relatively low bills and no kids. I know that in a few years I will be moving to South Carolina and want to get experience here in real estate before I get down there. Long story short the job sucks and I'm no longer looking at it as a career. Is becoming a real estate agent a realistic option to replace my current w2? Even if it comes close I'd do it to not spend 40 hours a week inside a jail plus a 10 hour commute. Any info provided would be awesome. Thanks

@Matthew Hamilton Hey Matt - you gotta take some risks in life to get what you want. You are young, have your health, make a change.
After leaving the military from South Korea (not stateside where I could job search and network), I moved to San Antonio not knowing anyone to get into real estate as an agent. I lived in a hotel for 6 months and eventually started making a living selling homes then getting into Property Management. Years later, I have a very successful business and life is great.
My point being, if I can do it - you can do it. Be aggressive and make a major change - NOW.
