How to get replies on BP?

I have been on BP for sometime now and it seems very random to me what forums get responses or not. Sometimes I get a ton of replies and other times I get zero replies. Can someone explain to me why or how to get more replies?

If something's been asked 52 times already, people might be tired of answering.

Like what for example @Account Closed?   If it's a bonehead landlord question about whether to install a $25 ceiling fan or not - you will get about 83 replies.

If you are discussing something important that could save $2M in taxes - crickets.  My experience anyway. 

I've asked 2 questions my whole time on here and nobody replied to either one.  

So what worked and what didn't for you?
