you make me want to type words that the forum will bleep out...TO ALL NEWBIE INVESTORS..THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T GIVE PEOPLE THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT!! THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T LET DISTRESSED HOMEOWNERS STAY AFTER A CLOSING!! well, they seemed nice, he has kids, he was on disability, etc. look, the guy that bought your house has gone above and beyond to help you, and you still want to screw him financially due to a possible mistake that may or may not have been made in the paperwork of an attorney....do you honestly expect anyone to say, "yes, cheat the system...screw over the investor who has already been too nice to you"???

Josh - Thanks for leaving it up. It simply reinforces that you can't let a seller stay in the home after closing!

To the OP - You really need a reality check. While this guy was trying to help you, you are stabbing him in the back. Obviously the house is not woth $3 million if it is in the condition that you say it is. AND like has been said here before, you DO NOT OWN anything in the house that is attached. The chandelier is attached. How could it possibly hang and have power if it wasn't?

I think this thread teaches a valuable lesson to anyone with many dependents (children) who count on their parent(s) to keep a roof over their head.

It is worthwhile to spend some time learning about Disability Income Insurance. Relying upon a policy through an employer is a mistake. Worse still is relying upon Social Security disability benefits.

As Mike has learned here in this hard lesson, he would have been well served to have his own policy before the accident happened.

After the accident, he could have taken many other steps. He could have sold the house and downsized into a house with a smaller or no mortgage payment. He really needed to find another source of income such as selling on eBay or a home based business.

From his posts, he sounds exceptionally bitter about his circumstances, That bitterness has turned into a sense of entitlement that others *owe him*.

I hope he comes to his senses before the sheriff becomes involved and the rightful owner of the house sues him. It really will send the wrong message to his children who still need him to be a responsible parent.

Mike, I truly wish you the best of luck. Reach out for help while fulfilling your obligations.

While I do think the OP is very likely to be just trolling, the thread is a valuable lesson for anyone who "want's the help the homeowner out and let them stay in their 'home'". This is a bad idea for a number of reasons. We haven't even gotten to the point where the OP, if real, might try to claim an equitable mortgage. But we have the OP trying to jerk around the investor. The investor who was a white knight not so long ago. Now he's an evil, dirty jerk who derves to be robbed?

And, robbery this is. If you remove and sell that chandelier, Mike, you will be a thief. Regardless of any contract BS you try to sling around, the chandelier, and a lot of other stuff, is intrinsically part of the property AND BELONGS TO THIS INVESTOR. If you steal it and sell it I hope he calls the cops and presses charges and you end up in prison. I'm sure you contract didn't explicitly say the siding was included. Are you going to rip that off and sell it too?

YUP!! This strangely similar writing style to the original poster just confirmed to me this is all an elaborate hoax...someone screwing with our time.

DEFINITELY valuable for newbies though on what NOT to do.

We've all just had an interesting ride for nothing...

As a moderator, do you have the ability to check IP addresses? If so, you can confirm if the two posters are actually one.

These people are one and the same. Yes . . . they share an IP. And now, they are (both) no longer members here.

Couldn't agree more, Stan. I dunno how he does it.

I've posted this a while back in another thread when it was asked, and I've PM'd pretty much the same thing a few times as well. It was even taken nearly verbatim by somebody and they posted it on their own blog, and Josh "found" that blog and gave it a nod by posting it in the Bulletins section (until I informed Josh of the origins of that content, that is). This certainly is a great example of why not to allow a short sale homeowner to stay in the home. Not sure if it was a legitimate story, but it illustrates an important point.

I suspect though if this situation is real that the investor has not yet seen the end of his/her troubles.

Sounds like you need to get out of the home as YOU dont deserve it. If your behind on your bills I suggest you get a job and handle the issue.
