HOA Violation - Possible Eviction

Annie Abenth
Posted

Hey BP! I've run into a huge problem on my out of state investment property in South Carolina. I didn't catch that the HOA has a bylaw that states that no more than 3 unrelated people can live in the house at any given time, but I have it rented to 5 college soccer players(two are brothers). I had a hearing with the board, and they decided I am In violation of that bylaw, and they are fining me $100 per day until we are no longer in violation. It sounds to me like I either have to kick them all out or see if one of them wants to move out. Either way, it's a terrible situation. Has anyone ever run into anything like this or have any advise?
