Laundry access question

Hi!

im adding a basement mother in law suit to the house I live in. The laundry is down there. It will not be a duplex, but I would like to separate the units as much as feasible.

I want to add washer dryer upstairs, in the smaller of 3 bedrooms. Construction cost maybe 3k.

can you help me understand the pros and cons? Hard wood floors.

I might live upstairs or down for a while then eventually move out.

Hvac is here now lol

Yes - I would add upstairs, unless you hire someone to do your laundry. Worth the expense.
