Shot term rental question

I know this question has been asked a lot . I currently have a few long term rentals but want to get into short term rentals.

Any up and coming areas or any recommendations on areas would be much appreciated.

    That would be the best place for your first one then expand into other areas if you like.it.

    Hey Brian,

    We have a STR in Sevierville TN and it is a great market although there is a lot of competition. Alot of people like to invest in beach properties (Florida or Gulf Shores). The bourbon trail (Kentucky) is definitely something to consider as well.

    What @Collin Hays said. And your area, if you live in Nyack, is a great starting point. Close proximity to NYC, the nearby state park, and a destination by itself for certain people. If not, stop looking for up and coming, look for tried and true. The key is making sure the numbers work no matter where.

    I’m in NY. Maybe in the Catskills … not really sure where else tbh. Prices here are outrageous

    There's a decent amount of posts in this subforum about investing in specific upstate NY markets that I would certainly checkout/dig for.

    Look for areas that are going to generate a lot of visits year round. I personally like to find areas that are versatile i.e. lake town in Summer and ski area in Winter. Close proximity to national parks is also nice.

    Hello Brian - If you're looking to move into short-term rentals, there are a few up-and-coming areas to consider. Places like Tampa, FL, Boise, ID, Asheville, NC, Detroit, MI, and Columbus, OH are seeing growth in tourism and demand, making them great options for STR investments.

    They offer potential without the heavy competition of more established markets. Just be sure to check the local regulations before diving in. Best of luck with your new venture!
