I've got 6 guys moving in to a 2 bedroom house tomorrow. I'm in the process of cleaning and restocking it. There is no TP for sale in this town. So I bought a 4 pack of Kleenex and am leaving it in the bathroom. How do you cope with the TP crisis?
@Fareed R. I think she is trying to imply she would still need toilet paper to dry.
@Sylvia B. It has nothing to do with sophistication, more with cleanliness. I'm sure you will figure it out once you get one.
1. Yes, that's what I was implying. I'm not pulling my pants up with a wet butt.
2. "Unsophisticated" was my third choice. I rejected first "ignorant" then "uneducated". And, by the way, never having used a bidet does not make one unclean.
3. Not planning on getting one. I've just been curious, and this seemed like a good opportunity to ask. :-D
It has nothing to do with being ignorant or uneducated either. My post was not meant to offend I only said I am surprised it has not caught on yet in America.
But since this isn't a "safe space"; if you use only TP it absolutely has to do with being unclean. But you just don't know what you don't know.
Just a quick note: there's no such thing as a safe flushable wipe that I'm aware of at this time, regardless of what the packaging says. I've worked in the utilities industry for many years and have seen several test demonstrations in sewer plants of "flushable" wipe break-down. Bottom line: they don't. If you are hooked to the sewer system, they either get hung up in the pipes (you would be surprised how many SSO's [sanitary sewer overflows] are caused by flushable wipes) or get caught on the grit screens at the plant. In your septic system, they either get hung up in your pipes, hang on to the tank baffle, or if they make it past the baffle (or worse, if you have no baffle) get hung up in your drain field pipes.
Without trying to get disgusting, I would have my guests use fast food napkins, a washcloth or their hand before I'd let them use flushable wipes.
Depends on the tenant, the good ones get the ultra soft and the bad ones get a three leaved plant that grows on a vine. I found some in my backyard and thought it would be a great way to cut costs.
As others have said, flushable wipes are not flushable. We have an RV and tested just about every one. If it doesn't break down in a few minutes, it will clog your pipes at some point.
For those that don't know what to do after using a bidet, try a towel. Just like after taking a shower or bath. Your bum is clean, just need to dry it off.
Our cleaners notified us yesterday they could not find TP on shelves in Sevier County to please send tp and they will reimburse. Found some on HDSupply and Grainger. Most hospitality companies were on back order or sold out as well as staples and office depot.....
I'm a "chunk" guy. I always drive my wife nuts when I go shopping. She'll ask me to pick up some cat food and some half and half, etc. I'll show up at home $200-$300 worth of stuff. I always figure if I'm here load up. So while we were cleaning today I looked in my utility closed and I had about 6/7 giant packs of TP. Who Knew my laziness would pay off:)
Back in January before all the craziness started I bought rolls of bamboo TP online from Public Goods since I wanted to get more sustainable. Not sure they still have any.
I guess I’m the only one wondering why 6 dudes are moving into a 2 bedroom. 🤷♂️
There is a major refinery maintenance project going on in my town involving 5000+ people. There are probably 1500 motel rooms in a 60 mile radius. My houses are 4-7 minutes away from the refinery. The contractors work 12 hour shifts for 13 days in a row, one day off, repeat. My houses have a kitchen, washer and dryer. Motels don't. They are also decorated like Hugh Hefner himself did it.

It's not that unusual in industries where people work 24/7 and get rotated out. When I was in the Navy we usually had 6-7 guys renting 2br places; half of us were out to sea for 6 months so usually there were only 2-3 people maximum in the place at any one time anyway. Made sure there were pull-out bed couches on the odd times when there were too many people for bedrooms, or when one of the bedrooms was indisposed, if you catch my drift :)
