New to real estate
Hi everyone! My name is Devon and I'm a healthcare provider in Atlanta starting my real estate journey. My mentor recommended I start with the Bigger Pockets Podcast to build a foundation. I'm interested in house-hacking and long term rentals, then I'll see where the road takes me... Any advice on first and second steps would be greatly appreciated. Excited to get started!

Welcome, Devon! You’re already off to a strong start - having a mentor and diving into the BP podcast library is a huge advantage.
For first steps, I’d recommend:
1) Get super clear on your buy box (budget, location, strategy).
2) Line up financing so you know exactly what you can act on when the right deal pops up.
Since you’re in Atlanta, house-hacking could be a great entry point locally. Once you’re ready to expand, don’t sleep on turnkey rentals in the Midwest and Southeast. A lot of investors I work with like these markets because they combine affordable entry prices with strong rental demand and reliable property management. It’s a solid way to scale beyond your backyard without having to manage everything yourself.
Always happy to chat more about what has worked for other investors. Excited to see where your journey takes you! Best of luck!
