College Student Looking For Recommendations!
Hello BiggerPockets community! I am Walker, I am 19 years old, and currently a Sophomore at Purdue University.
I have been an avid investor in the stock market since 17, but now I am looking to expand my investment horizons. With a new market comes plenty of research that I need to do, and I started by reading The Book on Rental Property Investing by Brandon Turner. I was hoping the community on here had some good recommendations for my next read! Preferably a book outside of the BiggerPockets publishing circle (no offense, I want to synthesize a variety of authors' takes.) Ideally, for my first deal, I'm able to find a duplex-quadplex that I can use an FHA loan for and house hack it to build equity for the first years out of college. This is definitely a couple of years in the future, but I'd love to start preparing now. Any recommendations that would help me build knowledge on my goals are highly appreciated!
Also, I'm always open to building my network in the field, so don't hesitate to reach out if you are a lender, investor-friendly agent, experienced real estate investor, or even a beginner like me! Feel free to reach out here or add me on LinkedIn, I'd love to chat. I'm based out of the Chicagoland area when I'm not at Purdue.

Hi @Walker Hornstrom, welcome!! Check out "The Millionaire Real Estate Investor" by Gary Keller for a solid framework, and "Real Estate by the Numbers" by J Scott and Dave Meyer for sharpening your analysis skills. Since you're looking at a small multifamily with an FHA house hack, I'd also suggest "The House Hacking Strategy" by Craig Curelop (not BP-branded even though the author is a BP alum).
Keep learning, run lots of deal analyses, and start building lender and agent relationships early so you’re ready when you graduate. Feel free to connect, always happy to help!
