New Member: Learning Fundamentals

Hi everyone!

Super glad to be here.

My name is Jada Bell. I’m based in New Jersey and work in NYC. I recently graduated college and am currently working fully time as an Excess Casualtu Underwriter for an Insurance Company.

I’m extremely early in my real estate investing journey and currently focused on learning the fundamentals the right way before jumping into my first deal.

My long-term goal is to build a small rental portfolio, starting with a duplex or small multifamily through house hacking, and eventually exploring value-add strategies like BRRRR once my foundation is solid. Right now, I'm prioritizing credit improvement, debt reduction, saving, and understanding financing, underwriting, and realistic cash-flow numbers.

I’ve been learning through podcasts, books, and forums, and I’m here to learn from people with real experience, ask smart questions, and build genuine connections.

If anyone has advice they wish they had followed before their first property/house-hack, especially in the NJ/NYC area — I’d love to hear it. Looking forward to learning from you all.

Hi @Jada Bell house hacking is how I got to financial freedom, it is hands down one the smartest decision a new investor can make.  If you would like to learn more about what it takes to HH in New Jersey I am always happy to hop on call and dive deep.
