Introduction and About Me!
Hi everyone, my name is Brandon Zarin. I'm 21-years-old from the North/Central New Jersey area. I'm a current student at Rutgers Business School, and I currently own my own mobile auto detailing business. I have had a general interest in real estate since I graduated high school, and I have talked about getting my real estate license for a while, but I just never put in the time to look into it further.
I am incredibly interested in investing in real estate during the next few years and doing it for the long term. I have started by listening to the BiggerPockets Podcast, which a friend in a local BNI group I'm currently part of recommended. Without knowing much of anything about either, I'm definitely most interested in both house flipping and renting out properties. I used to flip sneakers when I was younger, along with other things, so flipping is definitely something I enjoyed, but I know it's very different when you're flipping sneakers versus a whole property, obviously.
Any advice on how a younger person like me can get started in the Real Estate game would be amazing. I would also love to connect with anyone on the site and talk shop. Thank you, everyone!

It's going to be harder than you probably think it is. Stay the course.
Buying rentals is mostly a game of putting away cash that you need to get a return on. If you don't have overflowing cash, investing is not your first priority -- increasing active income is.
Now, you can buy rentals with creative options, like getting partners or borrowing 100% of the money, but doing all those things becomes an active job so it's just another way to increase your potential for active income.
