Hi everyone!

My name is David Johnson. Considering I have an extremely popular name, I often go by my nickname Dewey which is from when I was younger and looked similar to Dewey from Malcolm in the Middle. My career is a 3D printer engineer in a startup in the northern suburbs (Northbrook, IL) and I live downtown (Lincoln Park neighborhood). I really enjoy the 3D printing and startup culture and want that to be the type of company.

I started real estate as a side business at the end of last year. Initially, I joined the Response program which is one of the education platforms. I know the programs get a lot of negative feedback, but they have a helpline that I use multiple times a week to review offers and get feedback on my ability. Basically, they catch my mistakes before I make them allowing me to learn quickly.
Right now I am focusing on wholesaling single-family homes. I've only made one offer so far, but will be doing plenty more this month.

I've only spent a few hours per week on my real estate business last year. in 2020 I've been spending 10 hours per week now and am committed to continuing that. Currently, I'm building my buyers list, finding 2-4 more investor-friendly realtors and looking to make 10-15 offers per week. I'm also searching for investor meetups in the downtown and northern suburban area. Meetup.com only has groups that offer courses or classes. If you have a meetup that you attend, please message me. I would love to join and try them out!

Another investor recommended bigger pockets. I've been digging through the podcasts and love it. I am getting more involved with what the community has to offer.
