Hello! My name is Rachel and my husband and I have been listening to bigger pockets for the past year or so. My husband is in the Army, and the area we are living in now is NOT a good place to invest in real estate. He has one more year until he has fulfilled his contract and then he plans to move into a civilian job. We know that we do not want to be in our current location long-term and we know that we would like to move closer to our home state of Ohio. Preferably, we would like to house hack once we move back to in Ohio in a year.

The steps we are taking now: saving for the closing cost and/or down payment (if we decide not to take advantage of the VA loan) and we are researching areas to move.

Is there anyone here who has made the transition from military life to civilian life while investing in real estate? 

Where is a good place to invest in Ohio? 

Is there anyone here who has house-hacked in Ohio and has any advice?
