Gas meter installation

I have a property in Oswego, IL on which the gas meter has been removed. The gas company (NiCor) has told me that it may take 2 weeks to assess the job and then an additional 4 weeks to get the work done. The representative on the phone would not say what the current backlog is or whether it may be able to be completed sooner than the total 6 weeks. She would not say how much all this might cost either.

Does anyone have any experience in this? How long it may take and cost?
