Gap under baseboard, ants & dirt coming in

I've got the "anticide" or whatever it's called to put around the perimeter of the house, but is caulk the best solution to plug up the gap?

Caulk works well for small cracks. Spray foam is better if it is a larger crack or gap. Once dried you can trim it and paint to match.

bienes, did you ever get an answer for your question? if not, i'll go ahead....i caulk the heck outta everything...and while i'm on the subject, some of my apartments have bathrooms upstairs, and i silicone the heck outta those too!

Try to fill any hole outside and then fill the one inside too. And put out traps for ants to see if any are still getting in, that way you will know if there are more gaps that need to be taken care of.

i actually try to not use spray foam whenever possible..it expands too much and is not very durable...just what i've seen

thanks Bryan...I put down some stuff from Home Depot about a month ago around the perimeter and the ants haven't returned. There is a new quarter round there and everything looks okay.
