DIY Granite Slab Work

Hi guys.

Does anybody else do basic granite and marble small slab work themselves?

My last kitchen I did 10.5 feet of slab counter in 3 pieces for under $900 including stainless sink. At that price my labor plus tiling materials didn't make sense. My little tiny kitchens on the other hand make more sense doing tile since the stone vendors would still charge me the same amount for less than half the counter.
