Building Permit Process

Posted

Hello everyone,  I have two properties that i am working on in Delray Beach, FL. The first property is my single-family house and another property down the street (that is a double lot). I would like to have a company called Containers In Motion (located in Boca Raton, FL) build a residential storage container in my large backyard (for the single-family home), and would like to separate the double lot into two individual lots to build a residential storage container (one per lot). I'm new to this whole process and am trying to find out all the information I would need before enlisting this company to build the items i need. Does anyone have like a step-by-step guide or process that they can recommend i do or check out to get the project up and running with both the builder and the City of Delray Beach (ex: plans, permits, survey, etc.)? Thank you all

Start with your local building and safety department. You should also inquire about the lot split which in most municipalities I know takes quite some time to do.
