Can't uninstall OId, Funky, Kwikset Lock

I am trying to replace a lock on a door, and ran into this Kwikset lock that I can't remove. I removed the deadbolt key which was on the inside, but then there is another layer that is attached to the door. I tried sticking screw drivers and allen wrenches inside the two little holes, but no luck. I also tried just prying it off with a screw driver but no go. I contacted Kwikset two days ago and have not heard back so hoping one of you can help me! I use Kiwkset locks a lot, and usually there is just two sides that screw into each other and hold each other together.

If you look at the two small holes you tried to stick the screw driver into, they have slots cut into them, that is where you stick a flat head and unscrew them.
