No real solution for Heating and AC
I just moved into my duplex earlier this year and I’m on the hunt for a reliable HVAC solution. Right now, we have window units and electric baseboards for heat. Here’s the thing: the two duplexes next to me also use window units, but I think they have furnaces. My units still have the connections around the house, but those pipes are pretty old.
Since I’ve been living here for a couple of months, the upstairs can get super warm in the summer, and now that winter is coming, it’s freezing inside. I haven’t turned on the electric baseboards because I know they can be pricey.
I’m thinking of getting mini splits for the whole house to handle both heating and cooling. But in my area, they’re going to cost around 10-17k for just one side of my 2bd 1 bth unit.
Should I stick with what I have because the duplexes next to me have the same setup? Or should I upgrade my property to get a proper solution that will make my home better in the long run?
