Ask tenant to leave...or?

Hi! I found out there's a leak in the crawlspace at one of my single-family rentals, where mitigation and piping repair is needed. I am working to get this situated but I know this is going to be a huge inconvenience for my tenants, especially since we are in the holiday season. They have been very cooperative during the inspections, etc. I was considering asking them if they would like to move out before their lease is up due to the repair/renovations that need to take place. Open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!

@Jennie Ballard they are great and have been very accommodating. I have done some rent reductions as a courtesy and will look into another one for them to move out for the repair period once that is finalized, thank you!

Are they good tenants that pay on time and don't damage the place? If they are, I would offer a rent reduction for them to move out for the week to clear the construction zone. In Houston metro, a week at Extended Stay hotel would be about $600.

Well getting someone to move out on short notice and just before the holidays will be difficult . Without seeing the problem its hard to say but a good plumber could possibly make a temporary bypass of the bad section while they do a proper repair .

We has a root filled sewer line and dug down to the pipe and cut it , cleared it enough to flow and dug a ditch for the sewage to go . And  after the rain stopped , replaced the whole pipe .  Tenants never had a problem

@Matthew Paul galvanized pipe leak.... 2-3 day for mitigation/crawlspace cleanup, waiting on plumbing company to update me on how long it'll take to fix the pipe. Then I will have a better idea of how long.
