Continue Househacking or move in with in-laws

We are currently househacking a duplex and are glad about it. However, with costs rising, we've entertained finding a home with my in-laws to co-live. Does anyone have any experience with this and have any thoughts? We'd still keep the duplex and move in with the in-laws. The other option is just to find another multifamily and keep house hacking.

(a little biased) But house hacking is always the answer! This situation is obviously mostly personal preference based on how you and your partner want to live, but if i were in your shoes i would be looking to get a few house hacks in before banks start looking negatively at your DTI. Use up all the opportunities you have to get some rental property 3-5% down and in the near future you can always turn to a shared family house. it all depends on what your goals are
