Newbie Looking for Help

Marisa Opp
Posted

Hey everyone as the title says I’m new to the world of real estate investing. I’m looking to learn as much as I can and prepare to make my first out of state investment. Looking for whatever resources or tools (YouTube channels , books podcasts) and people to talk to that would be willing to teach. I’m eager to learn.  Thanks in advance all!

Hi Marisa - welcome! I have a few recommendations below.

Podcasts

- BP Real Estate  (When I first got in to real estate investing ~6 years ago, I listened to all of the BP podcasts)

- BP Real Estate Rookie

- The David Greene Show

HousingWire Daily and On the Market podcasts are also interesting but talk more about things going on in the real estate market than investing strategies.

Books

- Long-Distance Real Estate Investing by David Greene (If you are planning to invest out-of-state this would be a good start)

- Real Estate by the Numbers is a great book for understanding the numbers when you are ready to start analyzing deals

If there is a specific investing strategy that seems appealing to you, I may be able to recommend a few other books.

Feel free to reach out. Glad to chat and answer any questions I can.
