Application required for seller finance?

Hi we are doing our first deal selling a home owner finance. Its a small piece of land with a mobile home, being sold as is. The sales price is $80k. We have someone who wants to buy it and has told us their financial situation and ability to pay. Is a legal requirement to have a formal application with proof of income, etc?
