1031 exchange to RV Park?

Chase Schneider

I have a grouping of four rental properties (house, house, townhome and duplex) that are currently bundled in one loan.

I am looking at selling them and using that money on a downpayment for an RV Park.

Would that be "like-kind" enough to qualify for a 1031 exchange?

Thank you,

Chase

@Chase Schneider, Yes, at least the real estate portion of the RV Park would qualify.  Any mobile homes that convey with a lot would qualify as real estate.  But if you're just renting lots then any RVs would not count unless they had been included as improvements on the lot.

But in general any type of investment real estate can be exchanged for any other type of real estate to be used for investment.
