Quickbooks Online vs desktop version

I am switching to QuickBooks and wanted to know if I should switch to online version or to a desktop version.  I have strongly disliked Microsoft offices online platform, and was considering using the desktop version of quickbooks.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.  thanks!
