Starting out and Building a Team

Hi,

I am just starting out in real estate investing and the abundance of information out there is overwhelmingly at times.  Can anyone help me with how they started?  What's the first couple of things they did, read, etc...I feel like I am just going in circles.

Additionally, I am in CT (tri-state area NY/NJ/CT) and I am looking to invest out of state in good markets to get the best bang for my buck?  What is the best place to begin?  How do I even attempt to build a team or start researching which areas are good if I don't have boots on the ground?

I am eager to learn, have the money to invest, just lacking direction.  Thank you for all of your ideas!

@Louis Getzelman I currently own a rental portfolio in Milwaukee WI. The first thing I did was fly down and look at the landscape and met with realtors, title companies & Wholesalers. I also found the REI in that market and although I've never attended I reached out to the members via meetup.com and just began networking. In my first 18 months building my team(it may take you alot sooner) I took 3 trips down to the market from NY and by the year and half mark I fit right in. Now I virtually wholesale deals in the Milwaukee market(without physically seeing the property or coming to closing) while steadily building my rental portfolio. It's so funny because the local wholesalers reach out to me for many of my contacts LOL!!! but the moral of the story is to Network to increase your Networth!!! Persist and you will WIN!
