Home Inspection business?

Hello everyone,

Not exactly sure where the most appropriate place to post this would be, forgive me if this seems out of place.

Im currently in the process of changing careers and have been really looking into the best career that would put me in a great position to begin my REI path. I have considered getting my RE license but would like to explore other options as well. One that I have been looking at as of recently that has really grabbed my attention is property inspection. I have somewhat of a background in trades and everything that I have explored on the subject seems to be nothing but good news and would segue nicely into learning to invest.

My question is for anyone out there that is in this field or knows anyone in this field.  How do you like it? How did you get your start? If there is anyone in IL that knows someone or is a home inspector themselves, Id love to have a conversation! Fell free to give me any general thoughts as well.
