Using an app as a buisness number?

Question

I am starting to set up my buisness and would like to know what would be more professional for recieving and outgoing calls and messages/ texts ect. I know that people say that you eventually become close with the people you network with and invest with, but who's to say when? So I just want to get input on whether or not I should use my general number to put on my buisness cards, get a second phone plan or just a single free phone app?

@Winnie Rim Yes, the call will come in through the app onto any device where it is installed. It's another reason I like it, I can always tell personal calls from business calls.

Hello @Winnie Rim! I am a big fan of Google Voice. It is free to set up and has some great features, including calls over WiFi, decent transcription for VM, and integration with your Gmail & Google Calendar. The transcription and integration with email are especially great for keeping a paper trail for business communications. I like to keep things separate because that's how I keep myself organized. As you become closer to the great folks you are working with, you can provide them your personal number later. Most important is to find a system that works best for you. @Nicholas DiPasquale thank you Nicholas! Just another quick question, when your clients call you with your Google voice number are you able to identify that you are getting a call from that app that it is a buisness call and not a general call through your personal number?
