Best accounting software for real estate investors?

Hi starting a real estate investing company and looking for the best accounting software to manage financials from expenses; collecting rents; buying and selling, etc.

I was just recommended stessa and it’s free access from app or website with same interface. Super simple has everything you need.

There are several different options.  Quickbooks is the one that everyone knows and uses the most.  It can be pricy but well worth the money if you can afford it.  It also comes with different level subscriptions that you can continue to up grade as you need more features.  There are also some free options and obviously don't have many bells and whistles and will make it more challenging to switch to a paid accounting software.  I am happy to answer any specific questions may have.

IfIf you do not know what you're doing with accounting, which most people don't, I would recommend that you simply bite the bullet and pay someone to handle it.

It depends on if you're an llc or not, it depends on what state you live in, it depends on if you're a single member llc or a multi member llc- ultimately the numbers flow on to your tax return- your 10:40.

Unless you have some big spread of properties you're going to know your expenses for the year- Apply it against your income for the year.

The accounting needs to satisfy the IRS requirement for record keeping in case you get audited.

So I would say getting with someone who does real estate accounting and real estate taxes and real estate bookkeeping might be the smart idea for most people.
