How to obtain a mortage while freelancing

Van Nguyen
Posted

Right now I have house 1 rented out, house 2 house hacking successfully. However, I started travel nursing this year and it comes with its perks and draw backs. I do have a W2 but I switch companies every 3-6 months due to contracts. I have proof that I am consistently working, however it is not consistent with one company. I have more than enough to have 20% down and great credit. Where should I start looking as far as companies that are willing to lend to someone like me? Any ideas welcomed.

You can get a conventional type loan. You need all the w-2's for 2019 2020 and soon 2021. Plus all year to date paystubs, contact phone and email for HR. Nurses are in high demand and any decent Underwriter knows you can work as much as you want. You probably won't match well with an online lender who has four boxes to upload income when you have 14.
