I made an offer on two deals and they both sent a counter offer and my offers were rejected, so what did I do wrong?

@Lorraine Gaudin

What went wrong is you tried to get it too low.  Played around with a $110k offer, then $130k.  You took too long and somebody over bid you.  I don't work you market/State, but i assume its similar.  Just because you are negotiating doesn't mean the seller has to eventually take your offer.  With our strong seller's market, trying to negotiate the seller down you run into this exact risk.  That all being said, what was your "top number?"  You don't want to over bid either.  Good luck.
