Hey all, I'm new to the forum but have been listening to BiggerPockets podcast for quite a while now. I have one investment property, and work in the construction industry as a certified Journeyman electrician in both Washington and Idaho, with a strong background in residential work. I would love to grow my investment portfolio and look forward to learning from and meeting more of you!

@Chris Webb Thank you for sending @Beth Traverso information! My investment property is in Idaho, but my wife and I live in the greater Seattle area. Having said that, I am super new to all of this but have been listening to audio book after audio book trying to absorb as much information as I can regarding the real estate industry (including the BRRRR book by David Greene!). I also signed up for the boot camp, which I'm excited to dive into starting in September. While I know I'm off to a good start in real estate investing, it was sort of on accident. When putting down our deposit, we were mostly thinking of our Idaho property being a place that we can go to when we visit family. It wasn't until about a year after that when I discovered the BiggerPockets community, which really got me thinking about real estate investing. And like many of us here, I'm reaaaallllyyyy tired of my nine-to-five job. With all that said, I really do look forward to connecting with others that are also investing in real estate- whether it's in my home state of Idaho or here in Washington where I live now.

@Bryce Henson First off welcome. Secondly, I would suggest you spend some time thinking about what area of real estate investing is most interesting to you. You can always broaden your interests but for me personally, it was easier to get started by targeting a specific type of property. This will help you identify which meetup or Facebook groups will be most beneficial for you.

You are definitely in the right place to learn about investing. Ask questions and learn. I highly recommend you attend local meetups or join a local REIA near you so you can meet in person with local investors and network with them.

Hi @Bryce Henson and welcome! Like others have said, I would open different doors to networking. Whether that be Facebook Groups, Meetup.com, or going to actual investment meet ups, I would just recommend opening multiple doors for yourself. Thank you @Devin Parker! I'm all for all of it! Except, I have been social-media free for the past 2 years (and loving it) which means I won't be able to join any groups through FB or Insta, etc... So hopefully I can meet enough people here and be invited to meetups via this route! Please hit me up if you know of or are planning any future meetups. Thank you again.
